On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, a lecture by Hasan Nuhanovic about the genocide in Srebrenica was held at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), organized by the Department of International Relations.
The lecture was intended for students attending the subjects of the Genocide Study and International Law, but the lecture was open to all other guests.
Hasan Nuhanovic shared his experience of the events between 1992 and 1995, speaking about the historical context, narratives, the role of the international community, preparations for genocide, etc. In his detailed presentation, Mr. Nuhanovic also presented documents, notes and other official acts that indicate a clear preparation of genocide even before July 1995.
At the end of the lecture, the lecturer distributed several signed copies of his book.
Hasan Nuhanovic is the author of several books, among others, the best-seller Under the UN Flag: The International Community and the Srebrenica Genocide. He worked as an interpreter for the United Nations and thus testified to all the events in Potocari in July 1995.
