A delegation from İzmir Bakırçay University in Türkiye paid a visit to the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Monday, November 6, 2023. The delegation, led by University Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Berktaş and Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir Hiziroğlu, included Deans of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Health Sciences, along with representatives from the International Affairs and Exchange Programs Office. They were welcomed by the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım.
The primary focus of this visit was to discuss the successful application for the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility program. The application has been officially accepted and granted by the Turkish National Agency, signifying an exciting step forward in international education collaboration.
One of the key outcomes of this partnership is the facilitation of student mobility between the two institutions. Soon, students from both universities will have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs that promise enriching academic and cultural experiences. The initial study programs included in this collaboration are Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Nursing.
These programs were selected by taking into consideration the academic strengths and resources of both universities. The goal is to provide students with the chance to gain valuable international exposure while pursuing their academic paths. This partnership opens doors for students to study in a different country, experience diverse teaching methodologies, and immerse themselves in the vibrant cultures of Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
