IUS Job Fair 2025: Building Bridges Between Students and the Industry

Job fair

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly hosted its Job Fair 2025 today, transforming its vibrant campus into a hub of opportunity, innovation, and connection. This significant annual event brought together over 35 companies from a wide range of industries — including IT, banking, finance, telecommunications, human resources, medicine,  dentistry and NGOs— all eager to meet and recruit the next generation of professionals.

The fair was officially opened with inspiring remarks from IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yildirim, and the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Mr. Adnan Delić, both of whom highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the link between academia and the job market.

Minister Delić praised IUS for creating this platform that empowers students to network with potential employers and explore career opportunities. He encouraged students to remain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, use their knowledge to drive progress at home, and consider careers in both the private and public sectors. In a motivating gesture, the Minister announced that the Ministry is opening its doors to 28 IUS interns, inviting them to bring fresh energy and new ideas into public institutions — and possibly lead the change the system needs.

Following the opening ceremony, Minister Delić and Rector Yildirim toured the fair, visiting company booths and engaging in insightful conversations with industry representatives. Their presence and engagement underscored the shared commitment to supporting student career development and fostering stronger collaboration between government, academia, and industry.

One of the key milestones of today’s event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IUS and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. This agreement will facilitate internship programs for IUS students within the Ministry, offering them valuable real-world experience in public service.

During his visit, Minister Delić also met with Prof. Dr. Sevgi Kurtulmuş, President of the IUS Board of Trustees, and Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu, President of the SEDEF Foundation, to discuss potential future partnerships and broadened cooperation between IUS and the Ministry.

Beyond company presentations and job opportunities, the Job Fair offered enriching experiences through two Masterclass sessions and career counseling workshops led by MojPosao.ba Agency and Raiffeisen Bank. These sessions provided students with practical guidance on navigating the job market, crafting standout applications, and preparing for successful careers.

The IUS Job Fair 2025 was more than a recruitment event — it was a celebration of ambition, connection, and opportunity. It demonstrated IUS’s continued dedication to student success, offering them not only quality education but also direct pathways into the professional world. As today’s fair showed, when academia and industry come together, great things happen.
