FEDU Dean Visits Ankara

Prof. Dr. Almasa Mulalić, Dean of the Faculty of Education (FEDU) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), participated in the Early-Career Winter Workshop held from February 11 to 13, 2026, at Başkent University in Ankara, Türkiye.

The workshop brought together early-career scholars and academics to examine recent developments in Artificial Intelligence and its growing role in education and research. Through panel discussions, presentations, and networking sessions, participants explored topics such as the integration of AI into teaching and research processes, ethical questions surrounding AI-supported education, and the broader digital transformation of higher education.

As part of the program, Prof. Dr. Mulalić engaged with international researchers and academics, exchanging ideas and perspectives on innovative educational practices and exploring opportunities for future academic cooperation.

During her visit to Ankara, Prof. Dr. Mulalić also visited Middle East Technical University (METU), one of Türkiye’s leading research institutions. Hosted by Prof. Dr. Ömer Turan, she had the opportunity to tour the METU campus and learn more about the university’s dynamic research environment, interdisciplinary academic culture, and strong international outlook. The meeting also served as a valuable platform for discussing shared interests in research, teaching, and potential avenues for institutional collaboration.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Mulalić visited the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, where she met with Member of Parliament Ms. Ayşe Böhürler, together with Prof. Dr. Emel Topçu. Their discussion focused on the importance of closer cooperation between academic institutions and policymakers, particularly in the areas of education reform, digital transformation, and innovation in higher education.

The visit to Ankara highlighted the importance of international dialogue and partnership in advancing educational quality, research excellence, and innovation, while further strengthening academic and institutional connections between IUS and leading partners in Türkiye.
