Last week, Asst. Prof. Dr. Altijana Hromić-Jahjefendić from the IUS Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emil Knezović from the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) and Dr. Nađa Beglerović from the IUS Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) attended a series of meetings, trainings titled “Applied Materials Workshop” related to the EIT HEI Project “DeepGreenInno” at the University of Banja Luka. Asst. Prof. Dr. Altijana Hromić-Jahjefendić presented her research to the participants. Other presenters included: the project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Suzana Gotovac-Atlagić from the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dušan Losić from the University of Adelaide, and a young researcher Milomir Šuvira from the University of Washington.

The DeepGreenInno Project is the first EIT HEI (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, coordinated by the University of Banja with seven partners from six countries. In particular, the DeepGreenInno Project will contribute to the European Deep Tech Talent Initiative through capacity building of the partnering HEI institutions. The Project focuses on increasing innovative capacity in green material technologies, green chemistry, and material chain-related environmental protection. Apart from understanding the deep tech dimension of “green material technologies”, the project will further help young people think out of the box and consider establishing startups and using greener solutions in their work.
