A two-day Workshop “Sit in my Chair" was held on preventing barriers for the movement of persons with reduced physical capabilities titled "Sit in my Chair” at the International University of Sarajevo and in cooperation with the UKCS and the Association of Paraplegics and those suffering from polio in Canton Sarajevo. The Workshop was organized by the Architecture Program of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS).
On behalf of IUS, the first part of the workshop included a theoretical presentation and the lecture was prepared by Sen. Assist. Tijana Tufek-Memišević. In the practical part of the workshop, simulating the movement of persons with reduced physical abilities and using aids, the students from the Architecture program of IUS visited a part of the UKCS facilities and made observations on how the environment of the Clinic was adapted to the needs of the persons with reduced physical abilities.
This Workshop is aimed to provide support in solving the problem of removing physical barriers for free movement of the persons with diminished physical abilities and also help other health care institutions in the initiation and implementation of the similar projects.
