VACD Took Active Role in “PlayUK Arcadia 2018“

„PlayUK Arcadia 2018“ whose partner was also International University of Sarajevo (IUS) was held in Sarajevo from January 18 – 21, 2018. IUS students and staff also took an active role in its program.

This regional initiative of British Council that aims to support and develop the audio-visual sector travels through six major cities of West Balkans. In January, it arrived in Sarajevo, too.

Through creating connections between professionals from the UK and 15 countries, this platform supports knowledge and skills transfer in the areas of virtual reality, augmented reality, visual effects and animation, film production, distribution and marketing.

A number of IUS students also had a chance to take an active role in discussions and workshops.

A part of the program was reserved for the future of education in arts and design in the era of technological revolution. Prof. Kenan Zekić from the department of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design (VACD) took part in the panel about fourth industrial revolutions, with other panelists Biljana Srbljanović, Zoja Kukić, and Jordan Erica Webber – renowned video game journalists of British Guardian.

Professor Zekić also gave a lecture on the topic of Gamification.

Apart from the International University of Sarajevo, the other partners of this event were Sarajevo Film Festival, Meeting Point, Academy of Fine Arts, and others.
