VACD lecture: Importance of Preparation

On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, the Department of Arts of the International University of Sarajevo hosted guest lecturer professor Erol Čolaković-Šehić, producer, filmmaker and art photographer from Geneve. The lecture titled: “Preproduction: Importance of Preparation and Controlling the Outcome of Conceptual Arts” was followed by screening of the art documentary DE BLEU DE BLEU, after which students of BA and MA studies of VACD with the academics participated in a debate on importance of idea and pursuing the idea through the stages of filmmaking and conceptual arts.

Introductory notes for the lecture were given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lejla Panjeta, Head of Department of Arts. Colakovic currently teaches at MA studies and gives workshops in Barcelona, Geneve and Split. He expressed interest to make joint academic projects with our VACD. 

Erol Čolaković Šehić was born in Sarajevo in 1956. He graduated from the Academy for Theater, Film and TV in Zagreb (Croatia). He specialized and trained at BBC, Royal Art Academy, Pinewood Studio and London Film Festival. As cinematographer and author, he worked on TV Sarajevo and TV Belgrade and also collaborated with numerous TV stations, such as WDR Germany, Finland TV, TV Catalunya, BBC, TVE Spain… As a professor, he worked in several schools in Barcelona. He is the conceptual creator and founder of European Film Centre in Barcelona, where he worked as a professor, director, and executive producer. He has received numerous national and international awards for his work. In last twenty years he has been living in Belgrade, Barcelona, Brussels, Sarajevo and currently he works and lives in Geneva.
