Turkish minister Prof. Eroğlu visits IUS

Turkish Minister of Environment and Forestry, Prof. Veysel Eroğlu visited International University of Sarajevo on March 26 and 27, 2010. During his visit, Prof. Eroğlu met with Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu, president of Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Adem Baştürk, president of IUS Board of Trustees, Mr. Şaban Erden, member of the IUS Board of Trustees, Mr. Alija Rizvanbegović, member of the Management Board of the Foundation and Prof. Dr. Hilmi Ünlü, IUS Rector. The distinguished guest was also given a tour of the IUS Campus premises in Ilidža. Prof. Eroğlu was impressed with the IUS Campus progress and wished lot of success to the University.

On first day of his visit, Prof. Eroğlu also met with IUS students in the Conference Hall. Marking the occasion of the upcoming official opening of the IUS Campus on April 5, 2010, Prof. Eroğlu shared with the students his memories of establishment and development of Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo and IUS. He also advised students to use well the opportunity they have to study in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“You are the bridge between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey” stated Prof. Eroğlu adding that IUS students have to be a good example for others, as they represent their countries. Prof. Eroğlu also stated that International University of Sarajevo has big plans in becoming the leading center of research in this region. He then asked students to think on what they can do to help the accomplishment of this goal. Prof. Eroğlu ended his speech by thanking the founders of the University.

On the second day of Prof. Eroğlu’s visit, meeting with IUS academics and administrative staff was organized, during which Minister talked about his experience in academic field.
