Turkish language teachers and students met at IUS

On Wednesday, 28 June 2017, Turkish language teachers from schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkish language students met at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) to discuss the presence of Turkish language in Bosnian schools.
The event was organized by the Turkish Cultural Center "Yunus Emre" and was attended by, among others, Turkish Ambassador in BiH H. E. Haldun Koç, Director of the Turkish Cultural Center "Yunus Emre" Mehmet  Akif Yaman, Rector of IUS Prof. dr. Tahsin Erkan Türe, President of the Association of Director of Primary Schools of Canton Sarajevo Muamer Tinjak and Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature Prof. Dr. Kerima Filan.
In the meeting was discussed the state of Turkish language and other foreign languages in Bosnian schools as well as the formation of curriculum for secondary schools.
On this occasion, Mr. Yaman pointed out that under the project “My choice is Turkish language” in seven cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina reached the number of 7,253 students. Mr. Yaman also stressed that every year they organize this event to meet and exchange opinions with Turkish language teachers and Turkish language students.
