Students from Switzerland, Poland and Croatia doing internship at IUS

In the framework of international student exchange organization called "International Association for Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE)", the International University of Sarajevo has welcomed three students in early October of 2012: Ms. Patricia Jacquier from Zurich (Switzerland), Ms. Lavinia Matkovic from Osijek (Croatia) and Ms. Edyta Flis from Krakow (Poland).

Students will stay at IUS for two months and complete their internship in the Genetics and Bioengineering Program of the International University of Sarajevo. Our guests are students of pharmacy and biology in the second and third cycle of studies at the prestigious technical universities of their country and the world.

Ms. Lavinia is studying at the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osjek, Ms. Edyta at the famous AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and Ms. Patricia comes from the prestigious ETH University in Zurich, which is one of the world's leading universities in the field of technology and natural sciences. 17,000 students is studying at ETH from 80 countries worldwide, and 3700 of them are candidates for PhD studies.

21 Nobel Prize winner has studied, taught or researched at ETH, which greatly influenced its reputation in the world. Among the lecturers there were: Albert Einstein, Vladimir Prelog and Leopold Ruzicka.

The mentors of these students on their research projects will be following IUS professors: Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ragab Abdel-Gawwad, Assoc. Prof. Dr Haris Gavranović and Assistant Mr. Jasmin Šutković.
