Research trip to Harran University

Senior Assistant Jasmin Šutković and IUS PhD student Petar (Ammar) Glamočlija visited the Harran University (Şanlıurfa- Turkey),  for a research purpose in regards to the UNDP founded project entitled: Genetic characterization and stress evaluation of autochthonous variety of pepper and onion from Herzegovina region. This project is a joint project with Agricultural faculty of Sarajevo.   The visit took place during the period from 14th to 19th March, and required lab work was done in the laboratory for Plant protection, managed by professor Murat Dikilitaş. The University representatives, vice rector Prof. Dr. Şerafettin Çelik and the dean of Agricultural faculty Prof.Dr. Salih Aydemir have welcomed our research visit and provided full accommodation and facilities in order to complete the research tasks planned for the trip.  

Harran University is a prestigious university which functions with nine faculties, two colleges and ten vocational schools. The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) and its research and development center (RDC), through this initial corporation agree to encourage and promote future collaborative research activities between our faculties and research centers of the two institutions.
