Representatives of Tuzla Canton visited IUS

On Thursday, December 20, 2012, a delegation from Tuzla Canton (TK) visited the International University of Sarajevo. The delegation consisted of government representatives from Tuzla Canton, private and public industrial sector of the Canton, as well as representatives from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, of the University of Tuzla.

The reason for their visit was to talk about the possible collaboration between the International University of Sarajevo and the Government of Tuzla Canton. This collaboration would primarily be focused on strengthening the cooperation between universities, industry and government.

On this occasion, the head of the Research Committee at IUS, Assist. Prof. Dr. Jasminka Hasić-Telalović organized two workshops with distinguished guests from Tuzla.

The first session was a meeting held with professors, program coordinators, faculty deans, and representatives of IUS Management with representatives of Tuzla Canton. The meeting was led by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Research at IUS, Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Hadžiabdić, who welcomed the guests and informed them about the work and activities of IUS, and indicated the importance of strengthening the cooperation between science and industry, especially in terms of knowledge and technology transfer, as well as faster application of scientific achievements in practice.

The second session of the meeting was related to the topic of cooperation between B&H institutions, regional and international scientific cooperation, and development and implementation of the Strategy for Development of Science in B&H. Beside the representatives of IUS and Tuzla Canton, the meeting was attended by representatives of the B&H Ministry of Civil Affairs, Tempus Office in Sarajevo, WUS Austria and other foreign embassies and international organizations in B&H.
