Remembering the life and work of Necip Fazil Kisakürek

On Monday, 26th of May, 2014, a Turkish writer and activist Mr. Mustafa Yazgan gave a lecture at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). The purpose of his visit was to mark the 31st anniversary of the death of the prominent Turkish writer, patriot and fighter for human rights, Necip Fazil Kisakürek. At the lecture, distinguished guest talked about the life, work and activities of this prominent person and about all knowledge that he left behind for the future generations.

In  IUS amphitheatre, Mr. Mustafa Yazgan, who was Kisakürek’s assistant and close associate for 18 years gave an interesting lecture to students about this Turkish avant-gardists who through his social engagement marked one entire era in Turkey. Evoking memories on Kisakürek, Mr. Yazgan said: "His life and work has inspired generations of Turkish youth. He was and remains a true ideal for young people".
