Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited International University of Sarajevo

As part of his two-days visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prime Minister of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the International University of Sarajevo on Saturday, September 15, 2012.

During the visit, a numerous delegation accompanied the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, such as Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Bekir Bozdag, Foreign Minister Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Economy Mr. Zafer Caglayan, Vice President of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), Mr. Omer Celik, and Mr. Erdogan's wife Mrs. Emine Erdogan with their daughter Sumeyye Erdogan.

Several hundred of attendees, professors, students of the International University of Sarajevo and other guests and visitors came to greet the distinguished Turkish leader and his associates.

Prime minister and his delegation were warmly welcomed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IUS, Prof. Dr. Hasan Zuhuri Sarıkaya, the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Özer Çınar and the President of the SEDEF Foundation, Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Erdogan's visit, at the International University of Sarajevo, an exhibition of photographs of the late, former President of Bosnia, Mr. Alija Izetbegovic is organized by the Anadolu Agency (AA) and the Museum "Alija Izetbegovic.

The exhibition consisted of 29 images with details from the life of the late president Alija Izetbegovic, as well as details of the Prime Minister Erdogan's previous visits to Bosnia, shot by the photographers of the Anadolu Agency (AA).

The exhibition was opened by ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, by Prime Minister Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Mrs. Emine Erdogan, Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister Caglayan, and director of the Regional Directorate of the Anadolu Agency for Balkans in Sarajevo, Mr. Omer Cetres as well as director of the Museum "Alija Izetbegovic, "Mr. Adnan Zisko.

It was a spectacular event that all participants greeted with thunderous applause.

Opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by professors and teaching assistants of IUS, officials of the Embassy of Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo, TIKA, the Turkish Ziraat Bank, the Turkish Airlines, the Cultural Center "Yunus Emre", as well as other distinguished guests from home and abroad.

Prime Minister Erdogan thanked everyone who participated in the preparation of the exhibition, which he said, opened in the name of the great leader Mr. Alija Izetbegovic. After the opening of the exhibition IUS arranged lunch for all distinguished guests. During his visit to IUS, Prime minister Erdogan greeted the students and gave autographs.
