Prof. Dr. Marek Smoluk gave a lecture at IUS

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) organized the II International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity titled "New trends and challenges in today’s Europe (ICECI'15). The Conference brought together 140 scientists and researchers from different scientific fields and among participants were also eminent professors from the region and abroad. One of distinguished speakers at the ICECI'15 was also Prof. Dr. Marek Smoluk from Zielona Gora University in Poland. Prof. Dr. Marek Smoluk gave a lecture to students on the IUS on the topic ‘’The Conjuring of British Monarchs' Cognomens and Sobriquets’’ on Monday, October 19, 2015. During the lecture, Prof. Smoluk presented historical facts and interesting events that led to a change of personal names of famous British monarchs and how their names turned into sobriquets, nicknames, and cognomen. Once they were given they were mentioned in various wars and conquests.
