Prof. Dr. Lamija Tanović Gave a Lecture at IUS

On Friday, April 26, 2019, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), a scientist in the field of atomic and nuclear physics Prof. Dr. Lamija Tanović gave a public lecture "The Impact of Post-War Politics on Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina". The lecture was attended by students and professors of IUS and other guests. Dr. Tanović is a member of the European Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Lamija talked about a general topic of common interest , and it was about the education in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a focus on post-war period:”Sector of education in our country is in a rather bad condition, there are also some good initiatives that have been happening. For example, there is an attempt to overcome the bizarre creation called ‘two schools under one roof’, then the United College in Mostar, and the project that has been going on for two and a half years now, which introduces STEM elements in the education system. So, all is not bad, there are some good things, too.”

This was a second lecture of the Miller Talks series, which are being organizes by Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) of IUS.
