Prof. Dr. Aliye F. Mataraci at Symposium in Pristina


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliye F. Mataraci, Head of Social Sciences Department and Coordinator of Social and Political Sciences Program at IUS, was invited as a keynote speaker to the 3rd International Science Symposium “New Horizons in Science” (ISS2018) in Pristina, Kosovo, from September 5th to September 8th, 2018. ISS2018 “New Horizons in Science” offered a unique platform to foster knowledge in sharing and exchanging experiences in the fields of the health, social science and engineering sciences. The symposium was held in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute, University of Prishtina, and University of Mitrovica in the premises of Yunus Emre Institute in Pristina, Kosovo, under the sponsorship of the NWSA Academic Journals.

The opening of the symposium was honored by the Minister of Public Administration of the Republic of Kosovo, Mahir Yagcilar and Turkey`s Ambassador to Kosovo, Kıvılcım Kılıç, in addition to representatives of the Turkish Institutions, Universities in Kosovo and academics from 54 countries. The opening speeches, including that of the Director of the Yunus Emre Cultural Institute, Dr. Mehmet Ülker, all underlined the significance of such Symposiums in strengthening the relationships and collaboration between Kosovo and Turkey and the other countries in the region.

The opening speeches were followed by the lectures of the keynote speakers: Dr. Franc Vidic from Biotechnical Center Naklo, Slovenia; Dr. Orhan Özbey from Firat University, Turkey and Dr. Aliye F. Mataraci from IUS, BiH.
