Orientation Day for Students Going on Exchange to Turkey

A large number of students and professors of International University of Sarajevo have shown interest to participate in international exchange programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and others. As a response, IUS International Relations office in the upcoming period will organize series of lectures in order to provide appropriate information to those who are interested or who already applied for the exchange abroad.

First lecture of this type was held on Thursday, January 12, 2017. in the main amphitheater. Lecture “Orientation Day” was held for IUS students who were chosen to participate in Erasmus+ exchange program in spring semester 2017.

After the presentation and useful information that were given by IR office, IUS rector Prof. Dr.  Tahsin Erkan Türe congratulated students on winning the scholarship, and said that exchange is a great opportunity for students to be exposed to other sources of knowledge, and to enrich their educational, linguistic and cultural experience through meeting their peers from different countries. IUS Rector Türe encouraged students and invited them to use the opportunities and the possibilities offered for development at prestigious universities in Turkey. 

Apart from the IUS International relations office staff, the students who participated in Erasmus+ and Mevlana exchange program last year were present at the event as well. They shared their rich and practical experiences from different Turkish cities and passed on parts of the vibrant atmosphere from their trips.

During the selection process in last nine months, among large number of applications, 41 students were selected for Erasmus + exchange in Turkey in the academic year 2016–17. 

The interest of students has increased in comparison to the last academic year when only 8 students participated at Erasmus + exchange in Turkey.
