On the premises of Architecture Lab of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), another CNC Operator Training is planned to start on September 19.

This training lasts 6 weeks or 40 hours (it is held two times a week, from 5 to 8 p.m. with short breaks), and is taught by CNC Instructor Adnan Škulj. The training includes a short theoretical introduction, practical training in software, joint and individual practical work on CNC machine, three axis machine, and CO2 Laser.

“This training has been organized in the IUS lifelong learning center since 2013. So far, twelve groups took the training, whilst the maximum number of participants per group was ten”, said Mirsada Mehremić, Assistant to Director of LLL Center.

All interested candidates can register for the training at the official IUS and IUS Life - Lifelong Learning Center websites. The training costs 350 BAM and the application deadline for the next group is Sept. 18, 2017.

Ms. Mehremić says that the instructor gives individual attention to each participant, who are at the end of training required to take the final exam, in which they get the task to produce a form without instructor’s help.

“Taking into account the number of teaching hours and the price, our CNC course is the most affordable and the most inclusive one in the region”, said Ms. Mehremić, adding that the course has only three classes of theory. The rest of the classes are exclusively reserved for practice and the participants are particularly fond of that fact.

Instructor Škulj says that the theoretical part includes the principles of processing different materials including metal, the types of processing, and choosing the right cutting tools for wood and metal.

“The training also includes mandatory safety instructions for working in the wood and metal industries”, said Škulj, explaining that his idea is to have participants become operators, programers, and technicians.

CNC training at the IUS Lifelong learning center was attended by the participants from different regions of BiH, such as Tešanj, Jelah, Bugojno, Velika Kladuša, Vitez, Bosanska Krupa, Travnik, Goražde, Mostar, Konjic and Sarajevo.

When it comes to feedback received from participants of this valuable training, many of them managed to find employment in the private sector in the country, and some of them even in countries of the EU.

IUS Life team has great yet realistic plans.

They say that the goal is to attract as many unemployed people as possible who wish to acquire new and improve their existing skills, and make one step closer to employment.

Also, obtaining the new four axis CNC machine is planned, which will enable participants to practice processing on the CNC lathe.

At the end of our conversation, Hilal Karić, director of LLL Center and English Language School, emphasized that apart from CNC Operator Training, English Language School, and foreign language courses, IUS Life will continue to offer quality programs for personal and professional development for the public.

If you wish to find out more about this educational program and how to apply, the application form is on the link following the text. Please note that the number of participants is limited.
