New Approaches in Electronic Communications and Information Technologies conference at IUS
The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) began this morning on November 16, 2012, at 9 am a conference entitled "New Approaches in Electronic Communications and Information Technologies." The conference was organized by the International University of Sarajevo, Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and TURKSAT, satellite operating company from Turkey. The conference was opened by IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Özer Çınar, and was followed by introductory presentations and speeches of the President of the Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority, Dr. Tayfun Acarer, General Director of the Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Kemal Huseinović and Secretary General of the ITU (International Telecommunication Union, the specialized agency of the United Nations), Dr. Hamadoun Toure. Distinguished guests spoke about the contemporary technologies, development challenges of the industry and global networking. Opening of the conference was attended by the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina, HE Mr. Ahmet Yildiz, a professor of the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) Prof. Dr. Ilhan Fuat Akyildiz, the dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Prof. Dr. Narcis Behlilović and Vice Dean for Research from the same faculty, Prof. Dr. Mesud Hadžialić, a large number of participants and business partners in the communications sector, as well as students and professors of IUS. As part of today's conference two panels will be held entitled "Tendencies in EC," and "Approaches in IT." The basic idea and the concept of the conference is to gather the representatives from different sectors and institutions, and different countries, with the aim of exchanging different experiences related to this topic. We are convinced that the conference participants will gain additional knowledge and exchange the same, and will be able to apply the same in the daily operations of the entire sector.
