Mevlana Protocol on Cooperation Signed with the Bartın University

On Tuesday, September 10th, 2013, the International University of Sarajevo (IUS ) was visited by the Rector of the Bartın University, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Kaplan, Prof. Dr. Ali Naci Tankut, Vice-Rector of the Bartın University, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göktaş, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Bartın University, Prof. Dr. İsmet Emre, the Dean of the Faculty of Literature at the Bartın University, Prof. Dr. Selman Karayılmazlar, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at the Bartın University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Kul , the director of the School for Sport and Physical Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Savaş Bulbul, the Coordinator of Mevlana Exchange Program for Students and Academic Staff, Asst. Prof. Dr. Harun Er, Vice-Rector of the Faculty of Education at the Bartın University and Asst. Prof. Dr. Said Ceyhan, Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Economics and Administration .

Distinguished guests were welcomed by IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and Advisor to IUS Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut .

The reason for the visit of our distinguished guests from Turkey is the agreement on signing Mevlana protocol on cooperation between the International University of Sarajevo and the Bartın university in Turkey.

At the beginning of the meeting Rector Oğurlu informed the guests about the current educational capacities and plans of IUS, presented the curricula and structure of students and professors, and he especially emphasized the fact that the teaching process at this higher education institution is conducted in English language.

The protocol on Cooperation is signed by Prof. Dr. Ramazan Kaplan, the Rector of the Bartın University and Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu , the rector of the International University of Sarajevo.

By signing the protocol partners have committed themselves to work on a joint cooperation related to: cooperation in the research and implementation of international projects, organization of professional seminars and workshops, exchange of scientific, technical and educational staff and other associates, the exchange of scientific and professional experiences and achievements, exchange of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, and exchange of publications and literature.

Mevlana is a program of exchange of students and academic staff between the Turkish higher education institutions and other higher education institutions in the world.

The guests have visited many facilities of the IUS Campus, including the Faculty buildings of the International University of Sarajevo. At the end of the visit, the guests exchanged appropriate gifts.
