On Tuesday, June 24th, 2014, Dr. Ding Houfei, Chairman of Council of Islamic-Chinese Relations (CICR) visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). This visit was initiated by IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu.
Rector Oğurlu briefly presented the University, previous successful work and activities, and he talked about social activities and the development of academic research that was implemented so far. Also, they spoke about the aim and positioning of IUS in the future, and aspirations to establish a better and more successful cooperation at the international level.
During the course of the conversation, Dr. Ding Houfei pointed out that he is overwhelmed with the capacity offered by the IUS, stating that this is indeed a prestigious and high-quality international university. He also talked about the historical background and activities of the Council of Islamic-Chinese Relations (CICR). Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between these two institutions, which refer to the establishment of collaboration and exchange students from the People's Republic of China and students from IUS.
It is important to emphasize that Dr. Ding Houfei made Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu ''Goodwill Ambassador'' on behalf of the Council of Islamic-Chinese Relations (CICR) on IUS. '' With this gesture, they started the creation of strong foundations for future actions that will allow the University to become even more successful'' said the Rector Oğurlu.
