Literature of Great Migrations Related to Balkan Wars Symposium

At the great hall of the Municipality of the Old Town, a symposium entitled ''Velika iseljavanja i književnost iseljeništva/Great migrations and literature on migrations' was organized to mark the centennial of Balkan wars today, on December 14, 2012. The organizers of the symposium were TIKA, Yunus Emre Cultural Center, International University of Sarajevo and Foundation of Writers' Association of Turkey.

The symposium was opened by the President of the Foundation Writers' Association of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Doğan who stressed the importance of the centennial celebration of the Balkan wars to all that were present. Distinguished guests were addressed by IUS Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoğlu who mentioned the importance of education in the process of research of history and also processes directly focused on historical trends.

Turkish Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Yıldız addressed the audience as well. The symposium will last until tomorrow.
