The IUS Vis Moot team continues a string of successes in the Middle East Pre Moot competition.

Ever since the sad news of the cancellation of this year's Vis Moot competition in Vienna, the Vis Moot community has worked tirelessly to make sure the students still have the opportunity to compete and to experience this life changing event. Therefore, the Vis Moot will take place on an online platform for the first time in history in the first week of April.

The organizers of the Vis Middle East pre-moot followed this model and hosted their 10th annual competition between March 10 and 14, 2020. This event included live presentations, consultations and practice rounds with some of the most prominent names in international arbitration and academia. The IUS Vis Moot team consisting of IUS Faculty of Law students Irfan Osmanović, Emir Ahmethodžić, Medisa Fočić and Aidoo Mariama, under the guidance of their coaches Assist. Prof. Dr. Emir Sudžuka and Fahira Brodlija, LL.M, participated in this competition along with students from 19 other Universities from all over the world (the Middle East, the USA and Europe).

In a tough and even competition, the IUS team made it to the quarter final round and had an impressive performance, which was reflected at the final award ceremony. Irfan Osmanović won the prize for the best oralist, and Emir Ahmethodžić received an honourable mention for best oralist, both on the side of the Respondent.

Despite the difficult circumstances, the IUS Vis Moot team is preparing for the online Vis Moot with full motivation and enthusiasm, boosted by the success in the preparations for the competition.
