IUS Students participated in Student Conference: Alija Izetbegović: “Bosnia before everything”

On Saturday, October 22nd 2016, in Gazi Husrev-beg Library was opened Student Conference dedicated to the first President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović.

It passed 13 years after the death of the first president of BiH, Conference was organized by the Association “Youth Muslims”, Fond “Bosniaks” and Museum “Alija Izetbegović 1925-2003”. Conference was divided into three panels, in which students as participants presented their works related to the topic about life and work of Alija Izetbegović. On the Conference essays were presented related to education and profession of the first President, and his role in the Youth Muslims movement. Other topics were related to the relationships between Alija and international arena, Islamic Community, as well as political vision and ideas about Islamic Declaration, and his life in prison.

Association Secretary “Youth Muslims”, Anes Džunuzović informed the audience about future Conference visits in other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in Republic of Turkey. All works will be collected into one book, and will be presented to the audience.

Merjem Brković and Adna Mešanović, students of IUS, presented the work and life of Alija Izetbegović as research essay.

“All of us, honestly, tried to present, make research study and bring the truth about Alija Izetbegović, his role, without face masks. My topic was related to the Alija’s political vision”, explained Merjem Brković.
