IUS Staff participated in EURAS Conference & EURIE Training Workshop

On 5th of December 2016, Vice Rector Assist. Prof. Dr. Faruk Berat Akçeşme and Ms. Zühal Güvener, IRO Officer and ELS Deputy Director, participated in EURAS Conference and EURIE Training Workshop on “Regional Cooperation and Internationalization in Higher Education”, organized by Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) and its member Belgrade Banking Academy (BBA).

The events were hosted by Belgrade Banking Academy, in Belgrade, Serbia. More than 60 participants from Serbia, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Italy participated in EURAS Conference and EURIE Training Workshop. Vice Rector Assist. Prof. Dr. Faruk Berat Akçeşme and Ms. Zühal  Güvener were also present at the events on behalf of the International University of Sarajevo.

The mission of IUS is to become a major hub in Balkans, a bridge between the East and the West, and to establish its identity as an international institution of education. In order to produce inter-culturally competent and well-developed leaders, IUS is committed to the process of internationalization. For this reason, IUS has become a new member of Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), a network of more than 80 universities Asia, Middle East, Caucasus, Central Asia, Balkans and EU countries, participating actively to the programs and projects of the Union.

By participating in the EURAS events, International University of Sarajevo, as a member of EURAS network continues to build its capacities for the internationalization of the IUS. Following above mentioned events, IUS is expected to take part in a summit titled “EURIE, 2017 – Eurasia Higher Education Summit” to be held in Istanbul from 22 to 24 March, 2017.
