IUS Scholarship – A Chance for Bright Future

Today, in Sarajevo, fourth year high school students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the largest scholarship testing organized at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). More than 2000 students from BiH and the region were given an opportunity to win scholarships on this testing.

On the same day IUS also organized its Open Day, offering students a chance to get information about IUS faculties and study programs, curricula, internships, student exchange, and other opportunities that IUS offers to its students. Open Day is increasing productiveness of future students. It encourages the student interest for enrollment, and contributes to the increase in the number of awarded scholarships.

On the press conference Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım said:

“The International University of Sarajevo is a socially responsible institution, whose goal is the development and strengthening of Bosnia-Herzegovina and neighboring regions, by providing high quality education. Thus, this scholarship testing is the best chance for all young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region to be a part of this moving force. In years to come, IUS students will be proudly representing this university which gave them the necessary qualifications so that they will definitely contribute to the prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “

Through scholarship testing, IUS is giving a chance to young people to create prosperity and economic growth in the country, and create better opportunities for future young experts. The goal of such scholarship testing is to encourage and promote the culture of knowledge and education with young people. All scholarships awarded are valid for 5 years, whilst only users of full (100%) scholarships are required to maintain their academic record at certain level, and do not need to pay tuition for the Preparatory English Language School for one year. The recipients of other scholarships are charged tuition for the Preparatory English Language School.

President of the Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo, Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu, said that ‘future students and graduates of IUS are the best ambassadors of BiH who will build business, cultural, academic and other links between their country and the world. In order to achieve that, it is necessary to think unconventionally and offer more, and to have individual approach in education for every student.’

IUS has through socially responsible project of scholarship testing prepared to maintain and improve its position as a leading education institution of higher education in the region, by adapting itself to the challenges of new times whilst retaining values of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

International University of Sarajevo was founded in 2003. The areas of its work are higher education and research, which are the areas of public interest and public goods, and are conducted and regulated by BiH laws within its legal frameworks. The University has 5 faculties with 21 study programs, the instruction is in English, and the University values equally theoretical and practical knowledge.
