Ibrahim Spahić, the director of International Festival Sarajevo Winter, Prof. Dr. Tahsin Erkan Türe, Rector of International university of Sarajevo, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bal, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences established the cooperation between the IUS and the 33rd International Festival Sarajevo Winter on January 10, 2017.
The Department of Arts of IUS is organizing the competition for the best poster for the 33rd Festival Sarajevo Winter on the topic “Silk Road”. The works of the students of Graphic Design II and Project Studio courses will be exhibited in the IUS Art Gallery, in the official selection of the Festival program of fine arts during the mid-March. The members of the Committee are professors and designers Amer Mržljak, M. Furkan Hızır, Emir Hambo, Merisa Bašić and Branko Vekić.
The Department of Arts, the professors and students of visual arts will offer support to the Festival by creating design, sculptures, animations, exhibition, literature, and film. In the special program of Sarajevo Winter, the exhibition of Ebru works (painting on water) is going to be prepared by artist Mrs. Nihal Türe.
At the Press Conference which was held on January 12 in the City Hall, on the occasion of the announcement of Opening Ceremony of the Festival, the participants were: the selectionist of the movie program of the Festival Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lejla Panjeta, designer and expert in practice M. Furkan Hızır, VACD students and the representatives of IUS PR Office.
On this occasion, Mr. Spahić announced the established cooperation between IUS and International Festival Sarajevo Winter. The TV stations like BHT1, FTV and TVSA followed the Press Conference and they specifically emphasized the cooperation between the IUS and the Festival.
