IUS ELIT Program Organizes the Youth Conference Language, Literature and Education: COVID-19 Perspectives and Challenges

On Saturday, 31 July 2021, the Youth Conference entitled Language, Literature and Education: COVID-19 Perspectives and Challenges was held online via Teams platform. The Conference was organized by ELIT program of International University of Sarajevo with the aim of offering students of the first, second and third study cycles from B&H and abroad an opportunity to present their papers, and exchange experiences and ideas. Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ervin Kovačević, opened the Conference and welcomed the participants. Two keynote speakers delivered informative and inspirational lectures to the participants. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amira Sadiković, the University of Sarajevo, B&H, presented the topic: Ethics and Quality Standards in Translation and Interpreting. Dr. Yolanta Osekowska-Sandecka, the University of Zielona Góra, Poland, presented the topic: Translators’ work in the context of COVID 19 pandemic.

The total number of 26 topics were submitted by students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Poland and Spain. The topics varied from Linguistics to English literature, language teaching, translation studies, gender studies, media and psychology. The students presented their papers and engaged in lively discussions. Selected papers will be published in the Conference proceedings.
