IUS delegation visited COMSATS Institute (CIIT), Islamabad

During the visit of the delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan, IUS Rector Prof.. Dr. Özer Çınar visited COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Islamabad on 11 October 2012.

The Institute welcomed the Delegation and stated their interest in cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Pakistan and pointed out that this was an excellent opportunity to connect IUS with universities from Pakistan.

In addition, it was agreed that the Pakistani university professors who earn numerous scientific and professional contacts in the country and the world would support their colleagues at IUS in developing the scientific, educational and technical cooperation.

It was also agreed that the Institute is ready to offer fully funded scholarships at the MS level and five (5) scholarships each in the fields of Electrical Engineering and Physics.

Also, the Institute noted their readiness to accept IUS students at the undergraduate level for a semester of study/research under the "Study Abroad" program of the University.

It was also pointed out that in the case of IUS being eligible to receive funding under the EU's FP7 and Horizon 2020, then the faculty of two institutions can be encouraged to write joint research proposals to tap into the EU funds.

The Institute is ready to consider adjunct appointments for IUS faculty members at Institute on a reciprocal basis for joint/co supervision of graduate students studying at both institutions.

Representatives of the participating institutions are committed to thoroughly consider all the proposals presented at the meeting, and through their official representatives later agreed: so, the dynamics and models to realize the potential of academic cooperation, including the definition of their bearers, or of perpetrators.
