International Youth Festival held in Sarajevo

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) in collaboration with the International Association of students, the "Bal Tours" travel agency and the Turkish Cultural Center "Yunus Emre" organized the International Youth Festival.

The Festival brought together young people from more than 30 countries and was held in front of the National Theater in Sarajevo, from May 31st to June 1st, 2014. The students who come from different countries of the world and who are currently studying in Bosnia and Herzegovina had the opportunity to present their culture and traditions along with variety of dances, traditional costumes and music and food at the stands.

The Festival was opened by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Yucel Oğurlu. "This festival is not only organized in order to gather students from all over the world, but instead to show that Sarajevo is the Center of Art and Culture. We are proud that our students are part of this festival. Though this is only the beginning, I hope that in the next few years this event will become even greater", said Rector Oğurlu.

The musical ensemble from Indonesia and the Diki Kafkas dance group Great were very interesting for the audience at the Festival, which performed traditional dances from the Caucasus. The Diki Kafkas is a group of 8 young men was established in Azerbaijan back in 2011. This dance group has performed for all IUS students and employees in the lobby of the University on Friday, 30th of May, 2014. The audience had the opportunity to enjoy the performance.
