Interactive lecture of Şule Yüksel Şenler

Renowned Turkish writer and journalist, Şule Yüksel Şenler gave a lecture in the main amphitheater of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Friday, October 23, 2015. The lecture was organized by IUS student club ''Rosa'' in order that students can learn more about the author and her works, as well as her activism in Turkey. IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, with his associates Vice Rector Assist Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ali, Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Gürsel, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law (FLW), Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dursun, as well as many professors and assistants attended this lecture. 

During the lecture, the students asked various questions and talked with the writer about the women and their obligations in Islam, as well as the activism and the struggle for human rights in Turkey. Şule Yüksel Şenler was born on May 29, 1938 in the city of Kayseri in Turkey. Since yout,h she was writing stories and various articles and she eventually became an editor. Some of her articles were published in recognized journals and newspapers such as: Yelpaze review, Kadın daily newspaper, Yeni Istiklal, Bugün and Seher Vakti. Her most famous work (Huzur Sokagi - Peace Street) is portrayed in the movie "Birleşen Yollar" (Crossroads) in which famous Turkish actress Türkan Soraya played a role.
