IIIT European Summer School “Islam in Europe: Challenges of Pluralism” Held at IUS

Seventh IIIT European Summer School “Islam in Europe: Challenges of Pluralism” ended with a closing ceremony held at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on August 8, 2019. At the ceremony, IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım addressed the audience expressing his pleasure that conference like this was held at our University.

IUS was the host of this 11-day summer school, whose organizers were the International Institute of Islamic Thought, the European Institute of Epistemological Studies in Brussels and the Centre for Advanced Studies in cooperation with the Fairfax Institute in the United States.

The idea was to gather postgraduate students who wish to learn more about modern approaches in the fields of Islamic studies, humanities, and social sciences. This year, the program was attended by 25 participants from several European countries who had the opportunity to listen to the prominent world experts in their fields.
