IIIT European Summer School 2014 successfully started at IUS

From August 23rd to September 7th, 2014, International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is a  host for the second time to the IIIT European Summer School 2014.

IIIT European Summer School is organized by the Center for Advanced Studies, IIIT London Office (International Institute of Islamic Thought), the European Institute for Epistemological Studies in Brussels with cooperation of the Fairfax Institute in United States.

This year, the IIIT European Summer Schools 2014 brought together a significant number of distinguished speakers from the Balkans, Europe and other countries. Some of them are: Dr. Jonathan Brown, Dr. Jasser Auda, Dr. Jorgen S. Nielsen, Dr. Fikret Karčić, Dr. Enes Karić, Dr. Ziaudin Sardar, Dr. Ermin Sinanović, Dr. Anas Al-Shaikh Ali, Dr. Beddy Ebnou, Dr. Tuba Boz, Dr. Yaqub Mirza, Dr. Dilwar Hussain, Dr. Parvez Manzoor, Dr. Abdulwahab El-Efendi and Kathleen Roche-Nagi.

The program is primarily designed for Master and Ph.D. students who are willing to obtain more information and become more familiar with modern approaches in the fields of Islamic studies, humanities and social sciences. During the 80 hours of the teaching program, the participants will have opportunity to, in addition to the presence of lectures from renowned experts in fields, present their research projects at the workshops and participate in discussions during the breaks and in between sessions. 

Currently the School is attended by 26 participants from twelve different countries in Europe.
