Graduation Ceremony of Class 2017

Graduation Ceremony of Class 2017

In the evening hours on Saturday, June 17, 2017, International University of Sarajevo (IUS) paid tribute to graduates of Class 2017 of all three study cycles for their hard work and success in their academic journey. 233 graduates (Bachelors, Masters and PhDs) celebrated their achievements.

Respected Rector of the IUS expressed his happiness for all graduates and their families, reminded graduates to bear in mind that, wherever they find themselves, they are IUS graduates and they should make IUS proud. In his speech, respected Rector also said:

“It is a day for celebration and an occasion which gives us an opportunity to pay tribute to the wealth of knowledge, talent and high potential gathered here today. We all know that human capital is one of the most important foundations in building a modern society. I can see IUS is doing a very good job in preparing our students for a better future, to a better world. Dear Class of 2017, this is the day to acknowledge your achievements and to celebrate the culmination of your sleepless nights and tiring days! You have met the high challenges of education! You embraced IUS mission to search for the good, and the truth, to learn and to discover. Class of 2017, set your goals high, love what you do, be dedicated in things you do, and keep up the hard work, because this is the only way to compete in today’s and tomorrow’s world.”

At the Ceremony more than two thousand people were present, among them many persons from public life and diplomatic core of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The late afternoon ambience was delightful and filled with laughter and happiness for the shared honor.

In the joyful ambience the student of generation, Dženeta Begić from the International Relations Program made a short address. She said:

“There is only one thing I wish for you with all my heart. I wish that, no matter what you become and what you do, it is something you really love. The only way to do great work is to love what you do, someone once said. I’ve learned from my experience that it is not about money, it is not about social status, it is doing what your heart loves that makes us truly happy and complete.”

Iftar dinner was offered for everyone present at the Ceremony, which was especially convenient for the attendees who fasted and came from other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Ceremony ended at the sunset, so that guests could enjoy their iftar dinner and take photos with their families, friends and the graduates.
