Foundation for Development of Education became the owner of Elementary School "Isa-Beg Ishaković" in Sarajevo

On Friday, May 23rd, 2014, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), a signing ceremony of transfer of school ownership was held and was attended by the President of the Foundation for Development of Education, Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu.

Mr. Hasan Topaloglu has pointed out that one of the most important goals in establishing IUS was to build a bridge between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey. The Foundation for Development of Education was established solely for the purpose of education, but also with the aim to develop cultural ties and cooperation in the fields of industry and trade between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey.

“In the past 10 years, we have seen that we succeeded. The elementary school, Isa-Beg Ishaković which was established in 1996 in Sarajevo (Grbavica) will now become a part of our Foundation. We hope that this school in the next 10 years will be successful as IUS and we will do everything we can, to achieve the same level of success the university had so far", said Mr. Topaloğlu.

Mrs. Nezira Popovac will continue to perform her duty as principal. She has said that the transfer of founding rights of the elementary school “Isa-Beg Ishaković” was finally completed, after several months of negotiations.

“This is a historical moment for us. Our school has existed for 17 years as the first private elementary school. Three foreign languages are taught in our school: English, Arabic and German, and we are truly glad to introduce Turkish language to our students as well. The cooperation will continue and this is just a beginning for all of us. Through our school 1,800 students have graduated and many of them are holding PhD’s now", said Mrs. Popovac, and expressed hope that education in this school  will continue to be good and even better.
