FENS Students Took Part in "EPBiH Hackathon 2018" and Came 3rd

Students of International University of Sarajevo (IUS) and their peers from three other universities from Canton Sarajevo, took part in the two-day competition "EPBiH Hackathon 2018" which was held from December 7 to 8, 2018. It was organized by JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. from Sarajevo in cooperation with Microsoft BiH.

The aim of the competition was to encourage the university youth to further develop their programming competencies and skills, while at the same time developing their creativity, business ideas, and presentation skills. They learned to turn business needs into technical solutions and products.

At this competition, a team of our students from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) won third place.

For participation in "EPBiH Hackathon 2018" eight teams were registered, and each team had three members. The participants were from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (UNSA), Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (SSST), Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (IBU), and Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (IUS).

Students competed in the software development with regard to the customer-relationship management through the mobile app, development of the smart home app, energy efficiency management app and educational game for children whose theme was "Meet Strujić".

Dr. Sencer Yeralan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, congratulated students on participation and winning 3rd place.

EPBiH Hackathon 2018 is the first such event organized by JP Elektroprivreda BiH with the aim of becoming a tradition.
