Cooperation with Baltic countries has started

International University of Sarajevo (IUS) continues to strengthen the cooperation with Baltic countries. 

Five cooperation agreements are signed between IUS and universities from these countries so far (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). The most recent is inter-institutional Erasmus+ contract which is signed on Thursday, August 11, 2016 between IUS and the University of Tartu in Estonia.

On behalf of IUS, the Contract is signed by Vice-Rector for General Affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ali and on behalf of University of Tartu Mr. Mart Noorma, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. Future cooperation is related to the field of social sciences, arts, engineering, natural sciences and humanistic sciences.

By establishing the cooperation, 2 IUS students and one professor are enabled to participate in this project. In the spring semester of 2016/2017 academic year, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Social and Political Sciences and International Relations students will have the opportunity to attend classes at the University of Tartu. Student scholarships are in the amount of 750 € per month with paid travel expenses of 550 €. Fees for professors are in the amount of 700 € for 7 days with paid travel expenses of 550 €.

Also, it is expected the arrival of professors and students from the prestigious Estonian universities at IUS.

The University of Tartu is the oldest in Estonia. It is founded by King Gustav Adolf of Sweden in 1632. The number of students is 14.000 and more than 800 of them are foreign. Based on the QS World University Rankings, this University is ranked 400th in the world and is the best in the Baltic countries.
