Concert by Turkish Music Research and Application Ensemble

On Thursday, May 13, 2010 International University of Sarajevo had a unique opportunity to host the Turkish Music Research and Application Ensemble of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. For IUS academicians, students and other interested individuals, distinguished guests from Turkey, led by Mr. Murat Salim Tokaç, prepared concert of classical Turkish Music. The concert took place at the Amphitheater on the ground floor and attracted large audience that enjoyed the interpretations by the Ensemble for more than an hour.

As the concert came to an end, Mr. Hilmi Ünlü, IUS Rector, gave a humble token of appreciation to the guests from Turkey. He also expressed his wish that, in the future, IUS will have more opportunities to host this Ensemble. The interpretations that Ensemble played at IUS were part of its various lyrical and instrumental repertoires that include religious, military and folk songs.

The Ensemble was founded in Istanbul in 2008 with an aim to present 19th century classical music to a broader public.
