Book promotion of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edin Jahić on "Architectural constructions - principles, systems and materials"

On Monday, June 3rd, 2013, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) a book promotion was held entitled " Architectural constructions - principles, systems and materials" of the author and Associate Professor at the Architecture Program of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at IUS, Dr. Edin Jahić.

Promoters of the books were distinguished professors from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hadrović and Assist. Prof. Dr. Nerman Rustempašić. The event was attended by the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Őzer Cınar as well as many other professors, students and guests.

The book of Dr. Edin Jahić provides basic information, definitions and concepts in construction, the process of foundation of building, construction of buildings by type of material, and it also provides an explanation for all the work, techniques and systems that follow after the rough construction of the building: roofing, facade systems and materials, finishing, etc.

In his speech IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Őzer Cınar said: "I believe that the content of Dr. Jahic's book will become essential reading in teaching process of the architectural program".

Distinguished Prof. Hadrović said in his inspiration speech that: "For many years, in this region we have been missing a proper contemporary literature from a complex matter such as the architectural design, so the appearance of this publication is very welcome. IUS is honored to have such a book published".

The importance of the published book was also affirmed by Assist. Prof. Dr. Nerman Rustampašić, who specially emphasized the value of the content and its simple concept.

Dr. Rustampašić said: "The lines are legibly and good written, with appropriate technical illustrations, photographs and necessary tabular data in Bosnian and English language. This book is invaluable and useful, and I believe it will become essential reading material at universities in B&H and the region".
