Around 600 Guests Gathered at Traditional IUS Iftar 2019

On Sunday, May 19, 2019, traditional iftar dinner was held at International University of Sarajevo (IUS) that brought together students, professors, staff, friends and business associates of the University.

Since Ramadan of 2009, the IUS has been hosting joint iftar dinners that have become joyfully anticipated event both among the students and staff of the University. This year likewise, the iftar was also joined by many prominent guests: H.E. Haldun Koç, Ambassador of Turkey, H.E. Dr. Eldar Humbat oglu Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan, H. E. Mr. Khalid Hussain Khan Gudaro, Ambassador of Pakistan, Center municipality major Mr. Nedžad Ajnadžić, eminent Turkish journalist Mete Șener representatives of the local government, Turkish embassy representatives, representatives of the industry, of academia, media and other guests.

The date of this year’s IUS iftar coincided with the Turkish national holiday Youth and Sports Day. So alongside this year’s regular iftar program of dinner and Kur’an recitation, a film screening was also organized about the Youth and Sports Day, together with the sports tournaments in table tennis, chess and street football. The end of the evening was reserved for the concert of Bosnian musician Armin Muzaferija, with the support of the Embassy of Republic of Turkey.
