Visegrad Group (Visegrad Four), or "V4", is the name of the association of four Central European countries of Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland. The group is named after the Hungarian castle of Visegrad (Hung. Visegrád), which is selected due to the historical reasons. In the same castle on 1339 met the rulers of Bohemia, Poland and Hungary, Ivan Slijepi, Kasimir III.  the Great and Karlo I. Robert. The vision of this association of former socialist Central European countries is based on mutual protection of economic interests and the promotion of free trade, the development of transport infrastructures and cooperation in the energy field. Association this year celebrates 25 years of existence, and the initiator of its establishment was the then Czechoslovak President Vaclav Havel, leader known for exemplary humanistic and democratic convictions. The presiding country in the group changes each year in June according to the circular system. This year the Czech Republic chairs the group.
