Ambassador of Republic of Turkey H.E. Haldun Koç Gave Lecture to IUS Freshmen

On October 10, 2018, H.E. Haldun Koç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, the embassy’s First Secretary Mr. Oğuz Kılıç, and attaché for educational affairs Mr. Vasi Ete visited International University of Sarajevo (IUS) to give lecture for the freshman students.

In front of all present students in the amphitheater, the IUS Rector Ahmet Yıldırım wished a warm welcome to the ambassador, and thanked him for taking the time in his tight schedule to give a lecture our students.

Ambassador Koç wished students successful beginning of the new semester, and congratulated students for choosing International University of Sarajevo for their education. Ambassador said that the IUS is the educational institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized by the higher education ministry of Turkey. In his lecture he gave students an introduction to Bosnia and Herzegovina: its history, government, economy, bilateral relations with Republic of Turkey, and its centuries-long multicultural character as reflected in ahidaname by Mehmed the Conqueror. He also strongly advised IUS students to learn Bosnian language.

After ambassador’s lectures Mr. Vasi Ete also addressed IUS students, congratulated them on their choice of quality university and education. He also gave students useful advice about their studying abroad, explained them where to find necessary information regarding administration, what kind of problems they may face and how to solve them. Mr. Oğuz Kılıç also gave extensive information about the consular affairs, which will surely be of a great value to the freshmen.
