Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Salma Frances Mancell-Egala Visits IUS

On Friday, July 27, 2018, Her Excellency Salma Frances Mancell-Egala, the Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana responsible Bosnia and Herzegovina visited to the International University of Sarajevo. She was welcomed by the Acting Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administration, Prof. Dr. Sencer Yeralan.

She met with deans, professors, students and directors of the various IUS offices. Although an initial courtesy visit to IUS, it resulted in a very fruitful exchange of information and ideas and a list of action items. Professor Yeralan introduced H.E. Mancell-Egala to IUS, emphasizing its diversity and international culture, projects, achievements, and plans for the future.

The ambassador introduced her team and said that she is very glad that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the newest country for which Embassy of the Republic of Ghana is responsible for. She stated that education is the most important thing in Ghana politics, and that Ghana prides herself in providing free primary and secondary education.

The ambassador was very pleased to see that the majority of IUS directors are women and said that this mirrors Ghana, where the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Equality is quite active. She was very enthusiastic about the future cooperation between IUS and Ghana’s excellent universities. “This is just a first step in the future fruitful cooperation with IUS and our universities. We should start with the exchange students, faculty, and programs and broaden our cooperation in mutual interest”, said the ambassador.
