4 IUS Students Will Spend Next Semester in Latvia

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) continues to enhance cooperation with the Baltic States in the field of student exchange. Within the scope of Erasmus+ student mobility programme, IUS will send 4 of its students to the prestigious Riga Technical University (RTU) in Latvia in the spring semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. RTU is the oldest technical university in the Baltics established in 1862. In addition to engineering and technical programs, the field of cooperation between the two universities also covers international business and finance, arts and humanities.

Following a fair, transparent and equal-opportunity selection procedure, the host university selected Ali Kılıç from Electrical Engineering programme, Mehmet Reşat Açıkgöz from International Business and Finance, Muhammet Ali Yıldırım from Mechanical Engineering and Nedim Hafizović from Computer Science programme.

With the support of the International Relations Office, the students successfully completed all their documentation in due time and are currently undergoing visa issuing procedures. The host university generously assisted IUS students in providing the necessary invitation letters, visa application documents and bank forms.

On January 11, 2018, the IUS Vice-Rector Dr. Metin Toprak met with three of the appointed students. He expressed his support for their exchange period, gave them valuable advice concerning their stay in Riga and provided them with useful guidelines of presenting IUS in the best light as student ambassadors of the University.

We sincerely hope that the students will gain memorable experience during their exchange period and we wish them success in their studies.
