A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, between Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University (GIBTU) and the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). This significant agreement represents a commitment to foster cooperation and partnership in various academic domains and lays the foundation for a fruitful collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.
The MoU was signed by the respective rectors of GIBTU and IUS, Prof. Dr. Şehmus Demir and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, reflecting the top-level endorsement and support for this partnership.
The primary objective of this MoU is to establish a formal relationship and partnership between GIBTU and IUS, with a strong emphasis on research, joint degrees, student exchanges, and various other academic initiatives.
Both institutions are dedicated to upholding the principles of equality of opportunity, human dignity, and diversity. Discrimination or harassment based on factors such as age, race, religion, gender, etc., will not be tolerated.
The MoU encourages a wide range of collaborative activities, including but not limited to student and faculty exchange programs, cultural exchanges, joint research projects, development of joint degree programs, organization of summer programs, and training initiatives.
The successful implementation of the outlined activities is contingent upon the availability of funds and resources. Both GIBTU and IUS are committed to making concerted efforts to secure funding for their partnership endeavors. Specific financial arrangements will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis for each program or initiative as required.
