The one-month internship in Sarajevo went by quickly, so on April 26, 2024 we said goodbye to Benedetta, Linda, Lucia, Anna, Alessandro, Carla, Aurora, Francesca, and Emma.
This great group of students came from high schools in the Italian province of Emilia-Romagna, from the north of Italy. The certificate awarding ceremony took place on the same day in the City Hall and was awarded to the students by Deputy Mayor Anja Margetić-Stakić.
Mrs. Margetić-Stakić shared her inspiring life story with the students and talked to them about the importance of international exchanges, exploring different cultures, and respecting diversity. "In the world of international exchange of knowledge and experience, Sarajevo shows its openness and welcome to young people," said Margetić-Stakić. Deputy Mayor Margetić-Stakić was the first woman to compete under the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. For her, a young swimmer and competitor, it was a unique and unrepeatable experience.
