The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) recently celebrated the achievements of students who participated in this year’s English Language Summer School with a heartfelt certificate awarding ceremony. This special event marked the end of both two- and four-week intensive English programs, which were attended by over 150 students who engaged in diverse language lessons and cultural activities. Throughout the months of July and August, the IUS English Language School (ELS) proudly hosted more than 250 students from various Turkish high schools and universities.
The summer school program at IUS was designed to enhance students' proficiency in English and boost their confidence through interactive and immersive language classes. The ELS teaching staff demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication, creating a stimulating environment that kept students motivated. The teachers worked closely with students to ensure that each individual received the attention and support needed to improve their language skills effectively.
In addition, the program offered a rich array of extracurricular activities, giving students the opportunity to experience Bosnia and Herzegovina's unique culture and history firsthand. The students embarked on excursions to various cities, including Sarajevo, Travnik, Mostar, and Srebrenica. These trips allowed them to explore the country's diverse heritage and gain a deeper understanding of its historical and cultural significance.
During the certificate ceremony, several students shared their experiences and reflections on their time at IUS. Their speeches and videos were filled with fond memories and heartfelt moments that they will cherish for years to come. They spoke highly of the university's welcoming atmosphere, quality education as well as the vibrant culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition to celebrating the students' achievements, the IUS administration took the opportunity to express their gratitude to everyone involved in making this year's English Language Summer School a success. In a warm and sincere thank you note, the university extended its appreciation to all the students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. The administration also acknowledged the visiting schools and universities from Turkey, thanking them for their partnership and trust in choosing IUS as a destination for language and cultural education.
The note highlighted the significance of the collaboration between IUS and the visiting institutions, emphasizing how such partnerships enrich the educational experience for all participants. IUS expressed its hope that the students would carry the knowledge and experiences gained during the program with them in their future endeavors and that they would always remember their time in Sarajevo with fondness.
The ceremony concluded on a positive note, with students, faculty, and guests coming together to celebrate not only the completion of the program but also the friendships and memories made along the way. The event was a testament to the power of education in bringing people together, bridging cultures, and fostering a global community of learners.
