As part of the Work Package 3 (WP3) - Fostering Social Inclusion in VET Systems, the first workshop on Children's Rights was held on October 25, 2024, at the High School of Catering and Tourism in Sarajevo. This workshop, organized under the school’s “Learning for Life” program, aimed to promote inclusivity in education through engaging extracurricular activities.
The interactive workshop helped students explore and understand their rights in a fun, creative environment. During the first phase, students worked together to create an illustrated poster and a “tree of children’s rights,” with each leaf representing a specific right. This collaborative project encouraged them to engage with the concept of rights in a visual and meaningful way.
To further deepen their understanding, students participated in a role-playing activity where each took on a role representing a particular right. For example, some portrayed a doctor (right to health), a teacher (right to education), and an athlete (right to play and participate in sports). This exercise not only emphasized the importance of each right but also encouraged students to think about how these rights apply in real life.
Through this blend of play and creativity, students learned about their fundamental rights in a memorable way. The workshop was thoughtfully prepared and conducted by teaching assistants Emina Popara-Užičanin and Merima Đirlo, whose guidance made the session an engaging and informative experience for all participants.
